Women’s Cross Country Takes 27th at NCAA Regionals

Sophomore Sarah Bannon had a terrific finish to the season as the first Bulldog across at the NCAA Regionals.
Waynesburg, PA (November 15, 2008) – The DeSales University women's cross country team finished in 27th place out of 43 teams at the NCAA Mid-East Regional Championships held on Saturday at Waynesburg University in soggy conditions.

The Bulldogs had 494 points to claim 27th place. Leading the way was sophomore Sarah Bannon (Bayonne, NJ/Holy Family Academy) who had a terrific race finishing in 94th place as the top finisher for the Bulldogs in a time of 25:02.

Freshman Catharine Harmon (Charlton, MA/Shepherd Hill) was next across the line in 104th place in a time of 25:12 and junior Beth Malseed (Claymont, DE/Archmere Academy) followed in 147th place in a time of 25:51. Junior Alessandra LaMastro (Flanders, NJ/Pope John XXIII) was fourth for the Bulldogs in 152nd place in a time of 25:57 and fellow junior Jeanine Walsh (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) rounded out the top five in 152nd place in a time of 25:57.
