Track & Field Concludes Season at ECAC Championships

Sophomore Justin Del Piano was 10th in the decathlon at the ECAC Championships.

Springfield, MA (May 17, 2008) – The DeSales University men's and women's track & field team concluded its 2008 season with several individuals competing at the ECAC Outdoor Championships held at Springfield College.

Sophomore Justin Del Piano (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) was among the finishers for the men as he took 10^th place in the decathlon with a total of 5,468 points. Senior Frank McClatchy (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) was 19^th in the 800-meters and the 4x400-meter relay team consisting of McClatchy, senior Anthony Naimo (Northvaley, NJ/Bergen Catholic), freshman Pete Moreni (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) and sophomore Eric Yeager (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) finished 12^th in a time of 3:24.93.

On the women's side, sophomore Meghan Weber (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) competed in three events taking 11^th in the hammer throw (145-06.00 feet), 12^th in the discus (111-03.00 feet) and 18^th in the shot put (35-11.50 feet). Junior Bridgette McGinnis (Pennsbury, PA/Pennsbury) was 27^th in the 100-meters in a time of 13.13 seconds.
