Gwinn/Ferretti Lead Bulldogs to Third Place at Home Invitational

Senior Andrew Ferretti finished 11th at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday.

Center Valley, PA (October 10, 2009) – Junior Kevin Gwinn (Center Muriches, NY/Saint Anthony's) and senior Andrew Ferretti (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) finished right next to each other in 10^th and 11^th place leading the DeSales University men's cross country team to a third place finish at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday morning.

The Bulldogs finished with 138 points taking home the third spot. Gwinn was 10^th overall finishing the 8K course in a time of 27:13.79. Ferretti ran with Gwinn nearly the entire race, passing several runners over the last mile to take 11^th in a time of 27:22.19.

Rounding out DSU's top five were senior Justin Cuga (Newark, DE/Salesianum) in 39^th place in a time of 28:12.56, junior Jack Tarpey (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) in 43^rd place in a time of 28:17.45, and freshman Gerard Sclafani (Lincoln Park, NJ/Butler) in 47^th place in a time of 28:22.78.

DSU returns to action in just one week when they travel to Richard Stockton College for the CTC Championships on Saturday morning.
