Annville, PA (November 10, 2009) – Junior Jena Meaney (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph Hill Academy) and senior Emily LaDuke (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) of the DeSales University women's soccer team were each honored on Tuesday being named to the All-Freedom Conference Second-Team as announced by the conference office and as voted on by the eight Freedom Conference coaches.
LaDuke is making her third appearance on the All-Conference Team and her second on the Second-Team. She was named the Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year and to the First-Team as a freshman, while also earning Second-Team honors as a junior. This season LaDuke did what only one other athlete has done over the past 10 years and that is compete during her senior year as a physician assistant major. She was able to appear in 10 games, making seven starts and was tied for third on the team in scoring with four goals and three assists for 11 points. LaDuke finishes her career ranked third all-time with 55 career points.
Meaney earns All-Conference honors for the first time in her career as she made an excellent transition from a defender as a freshman and sophomore to the forward position this year. She was tied with LaDuke for third on the team in scoring with four goals and three assists for 11 points, starting 16-of-17 games this season.
