Pfitzenmayer/Lococo Honored on ECAC South Region First-Team

Sophomore Jen Lococo and senior Jamie Pfitzenmayer each earned ECAC South Region First-Team honors.
Center Valley, PA (May 29, 2009) – Senior Jamie Pfitzenmayer (Annandale, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and sophomore Jen Lococo (Easton, PA/Freedom) were each honored this week being named to the ECAC South Region First-Team as announced by the organization and as voted on the coaches in the region.

This marks the second time that Pfitzenmayer has earned All-Region honors after also earning NFCA Second-Team honors and the first time Lococo has been honored in the region. These two led the Bulldogs to a 25-15 record this season as they earned the #2 seed in the Freedom Conference playoffs and fell to King's College in the championship game of the double elimination tournament. The 25 wins marks the second straight year and the third time in school history the softball program has won 25+ games in a season.

Pfitzenmayer had a tremendous senior season at the plate and in centerfield. A terrific defensive outfielder, she made lots of noise at the plate this season batting a team-high .420 with a school-record 60 hits, breaking the old mark of 58 set by Jackie Fasolka. Pfitzenmayer also totaled team-highs of 37 runs scored, 11 doubles, six triples, and five stolen bases.

Lococo earned All-Region honors as a utility player splitting time between first base and pitcher all season long. At the plate she batted .390 with 48 hits and a team-high 29 RBI's. She had a team-high 15 walks and posted a .448 on-base percentage. In the circle, Lococo was once again terrific posting a 10-7 record with a 2.16 ERA. She struck out 64 over 103.2 innings pitched and had a team-high tying three shutouts on the year.
