Harmon/Bannon Leads Bulldogs to Ninth Place at Dickinson Long/Short

Sophomore Cassie Harmon was 31st in the 6K race at Dickinson on Saturday.

Carlisle, PA (September 19, 2009) – The DeSales University women's cross country team took home ninth place in the combined scoring at the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational held on a picture perfect day for running on Saturday morning.

The combined 4k and 6k races saw sophomore Cassie Harmon (Charlton, MA/Shepherd Hill) and junior Sarah Bannon (Bayonne, NJ/Holy Family Academy) lead the way for DeSales. Harmon was 31^st in the 6K race in a time of 25:11.8, while Bannon was just behind her in 33^rd place with a time of 25:13.7. Freshman Rachel Winters (Mertztown, PA/Kutztown) was third across in the 6K in 75^th place (27:11.4).

In the 4K race, senior Alessandra LaMastro (Flanders, NJ/Pope John XXIII) was first across for DSU in 54^th place in a time of 17:14.3. Fellow senior Beth Malseed (Claymont, DE/Archmere Academy) was next in 67^th place (17:36.8) and junior Emily Rau (Westmont, NJ/Haddon Township) was third in 83^rd place in a time of 17:58.8.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday, October 2^nd when they travel to the Paul Short Invitational.
