Annville, PA (January 19, 2010) – Senior Darnell Braswell (Allentown, PA/William Allen) and junior Lori Lidlow (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) were each named the Freedom Conference men’s and women’s basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Braswell continued his dominant play averaging a double-double of 20.0 points and 10.0 rebounds leading the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week including two important road wins in Freedom Conference play. He had his second double-double of the season on Wednesday when he totaled 22 points and 11 rebounds and added 18 points and nine rebounds in the win over FDU on Saturday. On the season, Braswell is now averaging 18.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs.
Lidlow helped the Bulldogs post a 1-1 record last week averaging 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. She had 17 points in the loss at Misericordia on Wednesday and then tallied a season-high 27 points and seven rebounds in the road win over FDU-Florham on Saturday. On the season, Lidlow is now averaging 17.1 points per game.
Both teams return to action on Wednesday evening when they return home to host Wilkes University in a Freedom Conference doubleheader. The women’s game starts things at 6:00 pm with the men to follow at 8:00 pm. Both games will feature LIVE stats and LIVE audio available on the DSU web site on game day.
