Allentown, PA (January 29, 2010) – Sophomore Andrew MacNiven (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton) placed among the top four in three events leading the DeSales University men's track & field team at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Friday evening.

MacNiven took first place in the high jump (1.87 meters), was fourth in the long jump (6.07 meters), and third in the triple jump (12.71 meters). Freshman Neal Fox (Adamstown, PA/Lancaster Catholic) was second in the long jump (6.28 meters), senior Steve Modrow (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) was first in the shot put (14.38 meters), junior Ken Devens (Vernon, NJ/Vernon Township) was fourth in the shot put (12.91 meters), and sophomore Hank Miller (Hamburg, PA/Hamburg) was fifth in the shot put (12.68 meters) to round out the top finishers in the field events.

In the running events, sophomore Brent Clauser (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) was third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 54.19 seconds, senior Pat Hess (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) was second in the 3,000-meter run (9:14.12), and junior Jack Tarpey (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) was third in the 3,000-meters in a time of 9:33.67.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, February 7th when they travel to the DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University.
