Bethlehem, PA (February 27, 2010) – The DeSales University women's track & field team took home sixth place at the MAC Indoor Championships on Saturday afternoon at Rauch Field House on the campus of Lehigh University.
Among the top finishers for the Bulldogs was sophomore Ashley Wade (Hackensack, NJ/Paramus Catholic) who took home second place in the weight throw (45-08.50 feet) and fourth in the shot put (35-09.50 feet). Senior Samantha Ward (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) was third in the pole vault with a top vault of 10-00.00 feet and junior Emily Rau (Westmont, NJ/Haddon Township) was sixth in the high jump (4-09.75 feet).
Senior Alessandra LaMastro (Flanders, NJ/Pope John XXIII) was sixth in the one mile run in a time of 5:41.70, freshman Kara Moran (Strausstown, PA/Hamburg) was sixth in the shot put with a top toss of 32-10.25 feet, and freshman Cara Maloy (Northport, NY/Northport) rounded out the top finishers with a sixth place finish in the pentathlon with 2,380 points and a school-record time in the 55-meter hurdles.
The Bulldogs return to action next weekend when a few of the Bulldogs compete at the ECAC Indoor Championships.
