Stroudsburg, PA (February 7, 2010) – The DeSales University women’s track and field team continued its indoor season on Sunday afternoon competing at the DeSchriver Invitational held at East Stroudsburg University on Super Bowl Sunday.

Three Bulldogs placed among the top eight at the heavily attended meet including sophomore Cassie Harmon (Charlton, MA/Shepherd Hill Regional) in fifth place in the 5,000-meters in a time of 20:24.88. Senior Alessandra LaMastro (Flanders, NJ/Pope John XXIII) was sixth in the 3,000-meters in a time of 11:47.87 and sophomore Ashley Wade (Hackensack, NJ/Paramus Catholic) was eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 40-09.75 feet.

On Friday evening, Wade traveled to the Widener University Invitational to compete in the weight throw and shot put taking home fourth in the weight throw (40-11.50 feet) and fifth in the shot put (34-07.50 feet).

DSU returns to action this weekend when they travel to the CTC Indoor Championships at Wesleyan University on Friday and Saturday.
