Annville, PA (April 26, 2010) – Senior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and sophomore Jack Kavetski (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh) of the DeSales University softball and baseball team were each named the Freedom Conference Pitcher of the Week as voted on and announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Kavetski batted .636 (14-for-22) with six RBIs and 11 runs scored as the Bulldogs posted a 4-1 record last week. In Freedom Conference play he went 8-for-13 with six runs scored and four RBIs as DSU took 2-of-3 games from Manhattanville College to clinch no worse than a #2 seed in the Freedom Conference playoffs. On the season Kavetski is now batting .411 with a team-high 10 stolen bases and 37 runs scored.

Andrews batted .500 (8-for-16) with nine runs scored and a 1.125 slugging percentage leading the Bulldogs to a 4-0 record including a sweep of Manhattanville College to move into sole possession of first place heading into the final week of the regular season. She was 4-for-8 with four runs scored in the sweep at William Paterson and was 4-for-8 with five runs scored and two home runs in the sweep of Manhattanville on Saturday. On the season she is now batting .388 with team-highs in runs scored (30) and hits (47).

The baseball team returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Limeport Stadium to take on Muhlenberg College at 7:00 pm, while the softball team also returns to action on Tuesday when they travel cross-town to take on Moravian College in non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.
