Center Valley, PA (April 5, 2010) – Senior Kevin Walker (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum) and junior Justin Campanelli (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) of the DeSales University men's lacrosse team were named the MAC Player and GK/D of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Walker was dominating in the Bulldogs lone game last week scoring two goals and one assist including the game-winner, picking up 15 ground balls, and winning 14-of-17 face-offs leading DeSales to its first-ever win over Manhattanville College, 9-7. The win moves DSU into a tie for second place in the MAC standings. Walker on the season now has 18 goals and eight assists for 26 points, leads the team with 64 groundballs and has won 60.8 percent of his face-offs (101-of-166).
Campanelli was outstanding in goal in the Bulldogs lone win last week, making five saves, including three during the fourth period when the Valiants were rallying to get back in the game. He also added one assist on the offensive end as he wins his first game of the season in between the pipes. Campanelli has returned from a hand injury and now has a 6.74 GAA with 20 saves in two starts this season.
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Eastern University for another MAC Conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
