ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
Annville, PA (May 14, 2010) – Junior #Kate Steiner# (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) and sophomore #Christine Petrilla# (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert-Hamilton East) were each honored on Friday afternoon being named to the All-Freedom Conference Team as announced by the conference office and as voted on by the eight Freedom Conference coaches.
Steiner earns First-Team honors for the second time in her career after also earning Second-Team honors as a sophomore. Petrilla is named to the Second-Team for the first time in her career after earning Rookie of the Year honors last season.
Steiner posted a 12-5 overall singles record this season and was 10-3 at the No. 1 position. She advanced to the semifinals of the #1 singles flight at the MAC Individual Championships in October. Petrilla was 9-10 overall in singles play and was 6-7 at the No. 2 spot including a 4-2 mark in Freedom Conference play. She had a terrific showing at the MAC Individual Championships in October, advancing to the championship match before falling to settle for second place.
Steiner and Petrilla were also doubles partners for the entire season posting a 10-7 overall record and a 9-4 mark at the No. 1 spot. The duo advanced to the quarterfinals at the MAC Individual Championships in the No. 1 flight.
