Center Valley, PA (May 28, 2010) – Senior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) added another post-season honor to her long list on Thursday being named to the ECAC South Region Third-Team as announced by the organization and as voted on by the coaches in the South Region.
Andrews has added this honor to also being named to the All-Freedom Conference First-Team and the NFCA East Region Third-Team. She was also named the John “Coach” Compardo Female Athlete of the Year at DeSales.
Andrews finished the year with a record breaking season in more than just one way. She led the team at the plate batting .386 and also had a team-high 46 runs scored, 66 hits, 19 walks, and a .443 on-base percentage. Andrews was second on the team with 17 doubles, added four home runs, and knocked in 19 runs. She also stole three bases and was second on the team with 89 assists from third base.
Her 46 runs scored and 66 base hits are both single-season records at DeSales. Andrews ends her career as the all-time leader in hits with 171 career base knocks, all-time leader in runs scored with 112, and the all-time leader in doubles with 39.
