Chester, PA (May 7, 2010) - After day two of the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships the DeSales University men's track & field team holds a 37 point lead over Widener University for first place, while the women's team is in fifth place with 35 points.
The Bulldog men will be looking to win its first-ever MAC Championship as it attempts to hold onto its two-day lead. Leading the men over the first two days are junior Mike Curry (Kennett Square, PA/Salesianum) who took first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior Steve Modrow (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) who took second in the shot put, senior Justin Del Piano (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) who took first in the decathlon, and freshman Jose Santiago who took first in the hammer throw and second in the discus.
Leading the women has been senior Samantha Ward (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus), who took second in the pole vault and sophomore Ashley Wade (Hackensack, NJ/Paramus Catholic), who has finished sixth in the shot put, sixth in the discus, and fifth in the hammer throw.
