Chester, PA (May 8, 2010) – The DeSales University women's track & field team had a solid team performance on over the weekend taking home seventh place out of 9 teams at the MAC Outdoor T&F Championships held at Widener University.
The Bulldogs totaled 43 points, just 3.50 points behind sixth place Shenandoah University. Among the top performers for the women were the duo of junior Sarah Bannon (Bayonne, NJ/Holy Family Academy) and senior Beth Malseed (Claymont, DE/Archmere Academy) who took home seventh and eighth place in the 10,000-meters.
In the 100-meter hurdles freshman Cara Maloy (Northport, NY/Northport) was sixth with a time of 17.02 seconds and Maloy also finished eighth in the high jump with a top jump of 1.38meters. Junior Emily Rau (Westmont, NJ/Haddon Township) was fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.48meters.
Senior Samantha Ward (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) had a terrific day taking second place in the pole vault (3.34m) and junior Amee Siegel (Breinigsville, PA/Kutztown) was sixth with a jump of 2.89meters. Junior Katie Kelly (Warminster, PA/Archbishop Wood) was sixth in the long jump (4.86m) and seventh in the triple jump (9.72m). Junior Allison Kurowski (Gouldsboro, PA/North Pocono) was eighth in the triple jump (9.71m).
Rounding out the top finishers was sophomore Ashley Wade (Hackensack, NJ/Paramus Catholic) who took home sixth place in the shot put (10.06m), sixth place in the discus (33.00m), and fifth place in the hammer throw (38.04m).
