Allentown, PA (January 27, 2012) – The DeSales University men's track & field team returned to action for the first time in the 2012 calendar year competing at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Friday evening in Memorial Hall.
Among the top finishers were senior
Andrew MacNiven, who took first in the high jump (1.85m), sophomore
Dan Beck, who took first in the one mile run (4:50.08), junior
Ben Badilla, who was first in the 400-meters (52.83), and freshman
Joe Todaro, who was first in the 3,000-meters (9:45.11).
Sophomore
Adam Mathias and freshman
Lee Orzol were each fourth in the pole vault (3.81m), MacNiven was also second in both the long jump (6.02m) and triple jump (12.48m), junior
Brandon Esterly was fifth in the long jump (5.90m) and third in the triple jump (12.42m), and junior
Jon Langton (13.58m), freshman
Justin Kulhamer (13.32m), and senior
Hank Miller (12.76m) finished second, third, and fifth in the shot put.
Freshman
John Bayeux was third in the one mile run (4:57.43), junior
Dan Taylor was third in the 55-meter hurdles (8.87), sophomore
Carl Keri was sixth in the 55-meter dash (6.92m), junior
Nicholas Piazza was third in the 800-meter run (2:13.42), and Badilla (24.57), Mathias (24.91), and freshman
Camilo Gutierrez (25.89) finished second, third, and fifth in the 200-meters.

Alex Clemson (9:47.33), sophomore
Ryan Guth (9:47.33), sophomore
Henry Klinges (9:57.83), and senior
Matt Lykens rounded out the top finishers in second, third, fourth, and fifth place in the 3,000-meter run.
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday when they travel to the Widener University multi/field events only Invitational and on Saturday at the DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University.
