Two PK’s Doom Bulldogs in 2-1 Loss vs. UMASS-Dartmouth

Sophomore Wes Frebel scored DSU's lone goal in the 2-1 loss on Friday night.

Mahwah, NJ (August 29, 2014) – UMASS-Darthmouth scored two penalty kick goals erasing a 1-0 Bulldog lead to earn a 2-1 win over the DeSales University men's soccer team in the 2014 season opener at the Ramapo College Tournament on Friday afternoon.
 
DSU took an early 1-0 lead just 3:13 into the game when sophomore Wes Frebel scored off an assist from sophomore Alex Peek.
 
That lead lasted just 1:42 as UMASS tied the score at one with its first PK goal at 4:55 and later took the lead for good with a second PK goal in the 35th minute.
 
DeSales owned a 10-9 lead in shots and had a large 9-1 lead in corner kicks for the game.  Senior Colin Sulpizio made two saves in the loss.
 
The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow when they face John Jay College in the consolation game tomorrow beginning at 1:00 pm.
