Walker Named to ECAC Metro/South All-Region First-Team

Center Valley, PA (May 29, 2009) – Junior Kevin Walker (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum) was honored this week by being named to the 2009 ECAC Metro/South Region First-Team as a midfielder as announced by the organization and as voted on by the coaches in the region.
Walker becomes the first-ever Bulldog to earn All-Region honors in lacrosse as he joined the team for his junior season after transferring from Mt. St. Mary’s College. He helped DSU compile a 6-10 overall record and a 5-5 mark in the MAC, earning the program’s first-ever appearance in the MAC playoffs where they fell to the #4 seed, Elizabethtown College, 9-2 in the quarterfinals of the MAC playoffs.
Walker was tremendous all year long as a face-off specialist in the midfield. He set a school-record winning 63.8 percent of his face-off attempts (173-for-271) and led the team with 112 ground balls, which ranks as the second most in a season at DeSales. Walker also totaled 13 goals scored and five assists on the offensive end.
