Annville, PA (May 3, 2016) – A program record nine Bulldogs were named to the MAC Freedom All-Conference Team highlighted by senior
Ryan Loughlin being named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year and head coach
Matt Brancaccio being named the MAC Freedom Coach of the Year as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning and as voted on by the eight MAC Freedom coaches.
Both Loughlin and Brancaccio become the first DeSales men's lacrosse players ever named Player of the Year and Coach of the Year in the MAC Freedom. The nine honorees also surpass the previous mark of seven named to the All-Conference team last season.

Tim Barry on the All-MAC Freedom First-Team, while four Bulldogs were named to the All-MAC Freedom Second-Team including sophomore

Tyler Newman, junior
Tyle Davis, and freshman

Jake McNamara and senior
Matt Warnken rounded out the honorees earning Honorable-Mention honors.
Brancaccio becomes the first DeSales University men's lacrosse coach to earn Coach of the Year honors as the Bulldogs set a team record this season with a program-best six-game winning streak to start conference play as DSU earned the #2 seed in the MAC Freedom Postseason Tournament surpassing a fifth place ranking in the pre-season poll.
Loughlin is the first Bulldog to earn Player of the Year honors and is making his third appearance on the All-Conference team after earning Honorable-Mention honors each of the last two years. He is tied for first on the team in scoring with 36 goals and 11 assists for 47 points. His 36 goals rank fifth in the MAC Freedom and he is third in the conference in goals per game. Loughlin just recently became just the fifth player in team history to score 100 career goals and is ranked sixth all-time in points entering the postseason.
Wilson earns First-Team honors for the second time in his career after also earning First-Team honors as a freshman and was named to the Second-Team as a sophomore. He is third on the team in scoring with 20 goals and nine assists for 29 points.
Barry earns All-Conference honors for the first time in his career. He is a leader of a defense allowing just 8.71 goals per game. Barry is ranked second in the MAC Freedom in caused turnovers per game (2.07) and leads DeSales with 29 caused turnovers on the season and is third with 36 ground balls.
Neggia earns Second-Team honors after being named the MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year and Honorable-Mention All-Conference last season. He is tied for the team lead with 27 goals and 20 assists for 47 points. Neggia is tied for fifth in points per game and second in the MAC Freedom in assists per game.
Newman earns All-Conference honors for the first time in his career ranking fourth on the team in scoring with 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points. His 18 assists are second on the team and he is fourth in the MAC Freedom in assists per game.
Davis follows up being named Honorable-Mention All-Conference last season with Second-Team honors this season. He is a key member of the defense totaling 26 ground balls and six caused turnovers this season.
Altland earns All-Conference honors having excelled as a long stick middie this season. He is second on the team in both ground balls (37) and caused turnovers (16).
Rounding out the honorees are McNamara who is making his first appearance on the All-Conference Team and Warnken who earns All-Conference honors for the fourth time in his career becoming the first Bulldog to ever earn All-Conference honors all four years of his career.
McNamara leads the Bulldogs with 126 face-off wins and has won 52.3 percent of his face-offs this season. He is ranked third in the MAC Freedom in face-off wins and adds six goals and three assists for nine points.
Warnken has had his best season as a Bulldog sporting an 8.09 goals against average with 85 saves and a .538 save percentage. He is ranked second in the MAC Freedom in GAA and is third in save percentage. His 8.09 would be an all-time record at DeSales surpassing the previous mark of 8.32 set in 2012.
