Newland was outstanding last week batting .524 with five home runs and 11 RBIs leading the Bulldogs to a 5-3 record.  In addition to his heroics at the plate he was also 1-0 on the mound pitching 3.2 innings of relief allowing just one run in the win over Scranton.  His biggest damage came in the three-game series with Eastern University as he went 8-for-13 at the plate with five home runs and nine RBIs over the three games.  On the season he is now batting .366 with eight home runs and 26 RBIs for the Bulldogs.
