Newland batted .375 and exploded on Saturday leading the Bulldogs to a sweep of FDU-Florham, thus clinching the #1 seed in the Freedom Conference playoffs, with four hits, three home runs, and six RBIs in the two games. In the process, Newland broke the single-season record for home runs, hitting his 13th in the second game on Saturday. For the week he had four home runs and eight RBIs for the Bulldogs. On the season he is now batting .363 with 13 home runs and 40 RBIs.
