Bethlehem, PA, (October 13, 2004) – The DeSales University women’s tennis team fell to local rival Moravian College, 7-2, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon in a tune-up match for both teams prior to the MAC Individual Championships this weekend at Drew University.
The Greyhounds took all three doubles matches and four of six singles matches to record the non-league win. Junior Laura LeVan (Orefield, PA/Parkland) and freshman Courtney McClurkin (Collegeville, PA/Spring-Ford) were the lone winners for the Bulldogs. LeVan defeated Becky Derringer, 6-3, 7-5 and McClurkin continued her undefeated season with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Nicole Gruber.
DeSales finishes team play this season and returns to action this weekend the MAC Individual Championships at Drew University. The Bulldogs finish the season with a 7-4 overall record and a 4-2 mark in Freedom Conference play.
