Men’s Soccer Rallies for 3-2 Win at Wilkes

 
Wilkes-Barre, PA, (October 16, 2004) – The DeSales University men’s soccer team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Wilkes University, 3-2, in Freedom Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
 
        Wilkes (5-6-2/1-3-1 Freedom) took a 2-1 lead early in the second half as Steve Uhas scored his second marker of the game at the 59:00 minute mark but DSU (9-5/4-1 Freedom) would respond.
 
        An own goal scored by the WU defense made it a 2-2 game at the 77:00 minute mark and senior Kevin Moore (Hockessin, DE/Salesianum) scored off an assist from his brother, freshman Kyle Moore (Hockessin, DE/Salesianum), for the game-winner at the 81:39 mark.  Moore headed in a centering pass from his younger brother for his team-leading eighth goal of the season.
 
        DSU had a 1-0 lead in the first half as senior Tim Pettine (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) scored his first goal of the season on an assist from sophomore Phil Yetter (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley).  The Colonels tied it at one just three minutes before the half on Uhas first marker.
 
        Freshman Brad Ferguson (Galloway, NJ/St. Joseph) made six saves to record his third win of the season as DSU out-shot Wilkes, 21-13, in the game.

        DeSales returns to action on Wednesday, October 20th as they travel cross-town to face local rival Muhlenberg College in a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
