Center Valley, PA, (October 6, 2004) – The DeSales University volleyball team won its first Freedom Conference game of the season, defeating Delaware Valley College (30-21, 25-30, 30-15, 30-18), in Billera Hall on Wednesday evening.
Sophomore Janna Sheckler (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) tallied a team-high 16 kills and eight blocks to lead the Bulldogs attack. Freshman Allie Boyer (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) and Molly Motley (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) each tallied 14 kills and junior Colleen Arthur (Ridley Park, PA/Cardinal O’Hara) registered a team-high 22 digs in the win. Freshman Gia Zimmerman (Blandon, PA/Reading Central Catholic) added 49 assists and 13 digs.
DeSales travels to Albright College for a tri-match between the Bulldogs, Lions, Gwynedd-Mercy College and William Paterson University.
