Pomona, NJ, (September 11, 2004) – The DeSales University men’s soccer team dropped its second straight game, 3-1, to Richard Stockton College, the host of the Stockton Seashore Classic in Pomona, NJ on Saturday afternoon.
Senior John Rennie (Cape May Court House, NJ/Middle Township) scored the lone goal for DeSales (2-2 overall) as he gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at the 6:20 mark of the first half. Stockton answered with the tying goal at the 41:56 mark and scored the game-winner on a penalty kick at the 49:55 mark of the second half.
The Ospreys added some insurance just five minutes later as Scott Adams scored his second goal of the contest. Freshman Brad Ferguson (Galloway, NJ/St. Joseph) made 11 saves in between the pipes for DeSales in his first collegiate game. Stockton out-shot DeSales 20-8 in the game.
DeSales returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to Lebanon Valley College for a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
