Sturm’s Hat Trick Leads Men’s Soccer Past Lebanon Valley, 4-1

 
Annville, PA, (September 15, 2004) – Sophomore Randy Sturm (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May) scored a career-high three goals in leading the DeSales University men’s soccer team past Lebanon Valley College, 4-1, in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
 
        Sturm scored the first three goals of the game with the first coming at the 12:28 mark of the first half on a feed from senior John Rennie (Cape May Court House, NJ/Middle Township).  The second was scored with just 19 ticks left before halftime and was assisted by senior Joe Rinchiuso (Norwell, MA/Norwell) and the third came at the 52:43 mark of the second half and saw senior Kevin Moore (Hockessin, DE/Salesianum) earn his first of two assists in the win.
 
        LVC made it a 3-1 game at the 56:06 mark of the second half before freshman Kyle Moore (Hockessin, DE/Salesianum) scored his first career goal off an assist from his brother, Kevin, to round out the scoring in the game.
       
        Three freshmen including Tigh Savercool (Millerstown, PA/Greenwood), Dennis Kelly (York, PA/York Catholic), and Brad Ferguson (Galloway, NJ/St. Joseph) combined to make six saves and allow just one goal in the Bulldogs win.

         DeSales returns to action on Saturday as they host Lycoming College in the first Freedom Conference game of the season in a rematch of last season’s first round playoff match-up.  The game begins at 2:00 pm.
