Center Valley, PA, (September 22, 2004) – The DeSales University field hockey team collected its third straight win on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated visiting King’s College, 3-1.
Junior Gina Malatesta (Warminster, PA/St. Basil Academy) scored the game-winner at the 30:15 mark of the first half as she collected the rebound of a saved shot and put it past the Lady Monarch keeper. The goal was Malatesta’s team-leading fourth marker.

King’s tied the game at the 22:56 mark when Suzanne Thompson also took the rebound of a saved shot and pushed it past the DSU goaltender. Senior Shavonne Hannahoe (Shoemakersville, PA/Hamburg) made two saves in between the pipes on her birthday as DeSales out-shot King’s 11-10, while the Lady Monarchs held a 9-6 advantage on penalty corners.
