Center Valley, PA, (September 30, 2004) – The DeSales University volleyball team defeated the Ursinus College Bears in a grueling five-game match (30-26, 26-30, 30-23, 30-32, 15-8) in non-conference action on Thursday evening.

 

        Several Bulldogs posted career-highs including sophomore Janna Sheckler (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) who tallied a team and game-high 22 kills.  Senior Michelle Piel (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville Area) had 18 kills and a team-high 26 digs.  Freshman Gia Zimmerman (Blandon, PA/Reading Central Catholic) dished out a career-high 50 assists and also had a 19 digs and junior Colleen Arthur (Ridley Park, PA/Cardinal O’Hara) had 21 digs in the win.

 

        DeSales stays at home and entertains Alvernia College in another non-conference match on Homecoming this Saturday at 1:00 pm in Billera Hall.
