Allentown, PA, (January 28, 2005) – The DeSales University women’s track and field team continued its indoor season by competing at Muhlenberg College with Ursinus College on Friday evening.
Senior Gina Lucrezi (Pen Argyl, PA/Bangor) took home two first place finishes in both the 800-meters (2:26.90) and the 1,500-meters (4:55.80) and sophomore Tara Barlow (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) also took first place in the 3,000-meters in a time of 10:53.6.
Junior Lauren McGarrity (Verona, NJ/Verona) and sophomore Desi Symons (Verona, NJ/Verona) each took home second place with McGarrity finishing the 400 in 1:06.90 and Symons finishing the 3,000-meters in 11:24.00. Senior Sarah Butler (Swedesburg, PA/Upper Merion) was fourth in the 1,500-meters in a time of 5:37.90 and fifth in the 400-meters (1:10.50).
Sophomore Eileen Lavelle (Tarrytown, NY/Sleepy Hollow) finished fifth in the 55-meters (7.7) and seventh in the 200-meters in a time of 29.60 seconds and junior Lindsay Serfecz (Easton, PA/Notre Dame) took fifth place in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 10.0 seconds.
DeSales returns to the track on Sunday, February 6th as they travel to East Stroudsburg for the DeSchriver Invitational beginning at 10:00 am.
