Bulldogs Defeat Keystone, 74-55, in Tournament Consolation Game

Annville, PA, (January 8, 2005) – The DeSales University women’s basketball team started a new win streak on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Keystone College, 74-55, in the consolation game of the Lebanon Valley College Tournament.
 
        Senior Alyssa Antolick (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) was the Bulldogs (9-2 overall) lone representative to the All-Tournament team as she poured in a game-high 23 points, 19 in the first half to lead the attack.  Keystone College drops to 8-5 overall with the loss.
 
        Leading by just two points, 12-10, at the 11:23 mark of the first half, DSU ended the half on a 29-12 run to take a commanding 41-21 lead at the break.  Antolick tallied 19 points in the first half and 11 points during the 29-12 spurt to end the half.
 
        The lead grew to as many as 26 points, 49-23, early in the second half and DeSales never looked back.  The Bulldogs forced 28 Keystone turnovers and held KC to just 27.6 percent shooting for the game.
 
        Senior Jen Netwall (Allentown, PA/William Allen) inched closer to reaching the 1,000-point mark as she tallied 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting.  Sophomore Jenn Osborne (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) and senior Maria Viercinski (West Wyoming, PA/Bishop Hoban) each added eight points and senior Holly Liebl (Kutztown, PA/Kutztown) totaled seven points and eight rebounds in the win.
 
        Julie Lasher totaled 21 points and Nicole Zapolski recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

        DeSales returns to action on Wednesday, January 12th as they host FDU-Florham in a Freedom Conference beginning at 6:00 pm.
