Uliana Breaks Another Assist Record, Bulldogs Win Fourth Straight

 
Center Valley, PA (October 1, 2005) – Freshman Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) broke her second individual assist record in as many matches leading the DeSales University volleyball team to its fourth straight win, 3-1, over Cedar Crest College on Saturday afternoon.
 
        Uliana broke the 3-game record for assists on Thursday and set a new record for assists in a 4-game match on Saturday with 54 helpers.  The old record was 53 set in 1995.  Both of the old records were held by Stephanie Poh.  Freshman Joann Rivea (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) was the recipient of most of Uliana’s sets pounding down a team-high 24 kills and also totaling a team-high 15 digs.
 
        Junior Janna Sheckler (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) also played well finishing with 17 kills and a team-high six blocks and sophomore Allie Boyer (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) totaled eight kills and 13 digs in the win which moves DeSales to 10-8 overall.  The Falcons of Cedar Crest College fall to 6-8 overall.

         DSU returns to action on Wednesday, October 5th when they travel to King’s College for an important Freedom Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
