Scranton, PA (October 15, 2005) – The DeSales University women’s soccer team lost its second straight game on Saturday afternoon falling to Freedom Conference foe, The University of Scranton, 2-0.
The Bulldogs almost drew first blood at the 15 minute mark of the first half as freshman Dana Eustace (Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Township) hit a shot from about 20 yards out that hit the post and caromed away. The Bulldogs mustered only two shots on the day as the Lady Royals out-shot DSU 31-2 in the game.
Scranton scored its game-winner at the 31:09 mark on a tally by Rosemarie DiDonato and added some insurance at the 49:40 mark on Mary Beth Vogel’s first goal of the season. Junior Kelly Hinkle (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) made 12 saves in between the pipes for DeSales.
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, October 18th as they host Kean University in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
