Women’s Soccer Falls Short at Lebanon Valley, 1-0

Annville, PA (October 22, 2005) – The DeSales University women’s soccer team suffered its second straight loss on a rainy Saturday afternoon, losing at Lebanon Valley College, 1-0, in non-conference action.
 
        The Bulldogs (6-7-2 overall) were out-shot, 20-5, in the game and the Flying Dutchmen (4-8-3 overall) held a 9-1 edge in corner kicks in the win.  The lone goal came in the 38th minute as Kristen Mauser scored her first tally of the season on a shot just inside the 18 that found the far side of the net.
 
        Junior Kelly Hinkle (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) made 11 saves in between the pipes for the Bulldogs.  Erika Ely stopped three DSU shots to record the shutout.
 
        DSU returns to action on Tuesday, October 25th hosting Alvernia College in another non-conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
