Center Valley, PA, (October 22, 2005) – The DeSales University men’s soccer ignored the rainy conditions and soggy field to record its second straight win, 3-0, over Susquehanna University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

DSU (10-2-2 overall) dominated most of the play the entire game out-shooting the Crusaders (7-7-1 overall) 14-8.  The game-winner came off the foot of freshman David Ackley (North Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May) as he knocked home a rebound of a saved shot from junior Randy Sturm (North Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May) in the 17th minute.

Another freshman, Tim Hall (Montclair, VA/Bishop Ireton), scored his first career goal mid-way thru the second half to give DSU a 2-0 lead.  Hall took a centering pass from sophomore Daniel Jones (Ronks, PA/Pequea Valley) and touched past the Crusader keeper and into the net.  Sturm added the exclamation point at the 77:42 mark on a beautiful play with his brother, freshman Dustin Sturm (North Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May).

Sophomore Rusty Riedmiller (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) made two saves to record his sixth shutout of the season and lower his goals against average to 0.48 for the year.  Nick Hoover recorded five saves in the loss for Susquehanna.

DSU returns to action on Monday, October 24th as they travel to King’s College for a Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
