Mahwah, NJ (October 27, 2005) – The DeSales University field hockey team recent slide continued on Thurdsay night as the Bulldogs lost at Ramapo College, 4-3, in non-conference action on Thursday evening under the lights at Don Bosco Prep College.
The loss is the fifth straight for the Bulldogs (9-9 overall), while Ramapo improves to 5-8 overall. Each team totaled 13 shots in the game and DSU held a slight 12-6 edge in penalty corners.
No team had more than a one goal lead during the game as the Bulldogs answered every Ramapo goal with one of their own until RC scored at the 64:47 mark to seal the victory. Scoring for DeSales was senior Gina Malatesta (Warminster, PA/St. Basil Academy) who found back of the cage twice with the first coming off an assist from freshman Amanda Deal (Macungie, PA/Whitehall) and freshman Marisa Baldassano (Audubon, PA/Villa Maria Academy) who tallied her fifth goal of the season to tie the score at three with just under 13 minutes left to play.
Sophomore Amy Zoltek (Harleysville, PA/Lansdale Catholic) made six saves in the cage for DeSales and Katelyn Ferguson stopped eight shots for Ramapo.
DeSales concludes its regular season on Saturday, October 29th as they host Manhattanville College in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
