Volleyball Suffers First Conference Loss, Falls at King’s 3-0

 
Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 5, 2005) – The DeSales University volleyball team suffered its first Freedom Conference loss of the season falling at King’s College, 3-0 (30-19, 30-25, 30-11) on Wednesday evening in Scandlon Gymnasium.
 
        The loss drops the Bulldogs to 10-9 overall and 3-1 in the Freedom Conference standings, while the win improves the Lady Monarchs to 15-6 overall and 2-2 in the Freedom standings.
 
        Freshman Joann Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) led the Bulldog attack with 12 kills and eight digs and junior Janna Sheckler (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) totaled seven kills.  Sophomore Gia Zimmerman (Blandon, PA/Reading Central Catholic) tallied a team-high 12 digs and freshman Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) handed out 29 assists in the loss.

        DeSales will return to action on Saturday as they host Albright College (10:00 am) and Gwynedd-Mercy College (2:00 pm) in a non-conference tri-match beginning at 10:00 am.
