Carlisle, PA (November 19, 2005) – Junior Steve Kriczky (Birdsboro, PA/Daniel Boone) scored a career-high 20 points to lead the DeSales University men’s basketball team past Bridgewater College (VA), 63-45, in the consolation game of the Dickinson College Pizza Hut Tip-Off Tournament in Carlisle, PA.
DeSales (1-1 overall) used a decisive 19-5 run over the last 5:35 of the first half to build a commanding 28-15 advantage at halftime after the Bulldogs had trailed 10-9 in the first half. The lead swelled to 18 points to start the second half on a trey by Krizcky and DSU never looked back.
Kriczky scored his 20 tallies on 7-of-13 shooting including a 5-for-7 effort from outside the arc. He also snagged a team-high six boards and had two steals.
Senior Drew Christman (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) added 13 points as the only Bulldog in double figures and grabbed six rebounds. Sophomore Eddie Ohlson (Allentown, PA/Parkland) equaled his career-high with nine points and dished out a season-high eight assists to go along with four steals and freshman Ed Lapinski (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) led the bench with a seven points.
Bridgewater College was led by Clay Michael as the lone scorer in double figures with 13. Michael also grabbed a team-high six boards.
DeSales will return to action on Tuesday, November 22nd as they host local rival Moravian College in the first home game of the season starting at 8:00 pm.
