Men’s Tennis Improves to 5-1, Beats Lycoming, 4-3

Senior Michael Almazan recorded wins at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-0) and No. 1 doubles (8-2) to lead DeSales past Lycoming.
 
Williamsport, PA, (April 10, 2005) – The DeSales University men’s tennis team improved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Freedom Conference with a 4-3 win over Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA on Sunday afternoon.
 
        Junior Michael Almazan (Allentown, PA/Parkland) and senior Bill Neal (Lehighton, PA/Marian Catholic) won at No. 1 doubles, 8-2 and freshmen RJ Connor (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) and Scott Davis (Wayne, PA/Archbishop Carroll) won at No. 3 doubles, 8-2, to earn the doubles point for the Bulldogs.
 
        In singles action, Almazan and Neal each won at No. 1 and 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-2 and sophomore Ernie Justice (Blue Ball, PA/Garden Spot) also won at the No 4 spot, 5-7, 7-5 and 6-2 to record the win for DeSales.

       The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, April 12th as they travel to Wilkes University for another Freedom Conference match beginning at 3:30 pm.
