Grantham, PA, (April 9, 2005) – The DeSales University women’s track and field team returned to action on Saturday, taking a 12th place finish out of 18 teams at the Messiah College Invitational in Grantham, PA.
Senior Gina Lucrezi (Pen Argyl, PA/Bangor) was the top Bulldog finisher with a first-place finish in the 1,500-meters (4:44.20). Sophomore Eileen Lavelle (Tarrytown, NY/Sleepy Hollow) was fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.53), sophomore Desi Symons (Verona, NJ/Verona) took third in the 5,000-meter run (19:06.00) and freshman Maggie Parlapiano (Honeybrook, PA/St. Pius X) took seventh in the 5,000-meters (20:09.00).
Freshman Laura Durso (Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley) was sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:37.21) and sophomore Amy Stocker (Bangor, PA/Bangor) was ninth in the javelin (105-05.00).
DeSales returns to action in two weeks as they host the CTC Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
