Laveglia and Kuttler Lead Bulldogs Past Local Rival Moravian College

Senior Brian Kuttler scored four goals and added seven assists for 11 points in the win over Moravian College on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Center Valley, PA (April 12, 2005) – Senior Brian Kuttler (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) and junior Chris Laveglia (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) combined for 19 points to lead the DeSales University men’s lacrosse team past Moravian College, 15-14, in MAC Conference action on Tuesday afternoon on Fasching Fields.
 
        The Bulldogs snap a two-game losing streak and win its first MAC Conference game of the season.  DSU is now 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the MAC, while Moravian slips to 3-8 overall and 0-5 in the MAC.
 
        DSU fell behind early as Moravian scored five straight goals during the first period to take a 7-4 lead after one period.  DSU rallied with five in the second to knot the score at nine at halftime and out-scored MC by one in the third which proved to be the difference.
 
        The game-winner came at the 5:05 mark on a shot from Laveglia and assisted by Kuttler.  It was the fourth goal of the game for Laveglia and Kuttler’s seventh assist, tying the school-record for assists in a game, which he set earlier this season.  Laveglia finished with four goals and four assists for eight points and Kuttler totaled four goals and seven assists for 11 points.
 
        Freshman Jay Young (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) had his best game of the season with five goals and sophomore Andrew Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) totaled one goal and one assist for two points.  Freshman Jim Ramsey (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) also scored one goal in the win.  Sophomore Ben Conroy (Easton, PA/Moravian Academy) made 10 saves to earn his second win of the season in goal.
 
        DSU returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Centenary College for a non-conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
