Center Valley, PA, (April 15, 2005) – Junior Matt Reppert (Allentown, PA/Dieruff) tossed his third complete-game of the season to lead the DeSales University baseball team past Wilkes University, 10-1, in Freedom Conference action on Friday afternoon at Butz Field.
Reppert, the Cambridge Search Player of the game, notched his 14th career complete-game and moves into first place all-time past Brian Gillow. Reppert is now 5-1 on the year with an ERA of 1.05. The Bulldogs (20-5, 10-3 Freedom) have now won 20+ games for the sixth straight year and for the 11th time in the last 12 years. Wilkes falls to 16-10-1 overall and 7-3 in the Freedom Conference. These two teams will wrap-up its three-game set tomorrow at Wilkes with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
In addition to Reppert’s pitching, DSU continued to swing hot bats as it totaled 16 hits and scored 10 runs. Senior Kyle Hoffman (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) was 4-for-4 with an RBI and fellow senior Ian Hauze (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI’s.
Junior Derek Miller (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, sophomore Matt Lezinsky (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) was 2-for-4 with two RBI’s and a run scored and senior Kyle Peters (Allentown, PA/Parkland) totaled two hits with a run scored to round out the multi-hit performers.
