Men’s Tennis Improves to 7-2 Overall

Senior Bill Neal improved to 7-2 on the season with a win in his last career home match on Saturday afternoon.
 
Center Valley, PA, (April 16, 2005) – The DeSales University men’s tennis team improved to 7-2 overall on the season with a 5-2 win over Albright College in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
 
        The Bulldogs started off with a 1-0 lead as they earned the doubles point.  Sophomore Ernie Justice (Blue Ball, PA/Garden Spot) and freshman Antony May (Lowell, MA/Lowell Catholic) won at No. 2 doubles, 9-8 (7-4) and freshmen RJ Connor (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) and Scott Davis (Wayne, PA/Archbishop Carroll) won at No. 3, 8-6, to record the point.
 
        DeSales continued with the match and took four of six singles matches to record the win.  Junior Michael Almazan (Allentown, PA/Parkland) earned a win at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-4 and senior Bill Neal (Lehighton, PA/Marian Catholic) won at the No. 2 spot, 6-1, 6-2 to improve to 7-2 on the year.  Also winning were Justice at No. 4 singles and Davis at the No. 5 spot.

        The match today was the last home match of the season for DeSales.  They continue its season on the road at FDU-Florham on Wednesday, April 19th beginning at 3:30 pm.
