Hackettstown, NJ (April 16, 2005) – The DeSales University men’s lacrosse team suffered a set-back on Saturday afternoon falling at Centenary College, 17-15, in non-conference action.
The loss drops the Bulldogs to 3-6 overall, while the win is the first of the season for the Cyclones, who improve to 1-8 overall. DSU fell behind 9-6 at halftime but rallied with seven goals in the third period to tie the score at 13 entering the fourth period. Centenary answered with two quick goals in the last period and DSU was unable to score over the last 10:28 of the game after they pulled within one tally at the 10:28 mark of the fourth quarter.
Sophomore Andrew Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) led the attack with five goals and two assists for seven points. Freshman Frank Przybylski (Brick, NJ/Brick Township) scored three goals and added an assist, junior Chris Laveglia (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) totaled two goals and two assists and freshman Jay Young (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) had two goals.
Seniors Brian Kuttler (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) and Justin Holman (Allentown, PA/Salisbury) along with sophomore Robert Mahon (Medford, NJ/St. Joseph’s Prep) each scored once and freshman Jim Ramsey (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) added an assist in the loss. Sophomore Ben Conroy (Easton, PA/Moravian Academy) made 12 saves.
DeSales returns to action on Monday, April 18th as they travel to Widener University for a MAC Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
