Union, NJ, (April 19, 2005) – The DeSales University baseball team lost its second straight game on Tuesday afternoon, 6-2, at Kean University in non-conference action at Jim Hynes Stadium in Union, NJ.
The Bulldogs drop to 21-7 with the loss, while 17th ranked Kean University improves to 24-6 overall. DSU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning but the Cougars answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings and that was all KU needed to record the non-conference win.
Senior Kyle Hoffman (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown), the Cambridge Search Player of the Game, provided most of the offense going 2-for-4 with two RBI’s. Fellow senior Dan Fratantoro (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) and sophomore Matt Lezinsky (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) each had two hits as well.
Freshman JT Brotosky (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) suffered the loss as he lasted 5.1 innings allowing nine hits and five runs to fall to 2-1 on the season.
DeSales returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to Rutgers-Camden for another non-conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
