Center Valley, PA (April 23, 2005) – The DeSales University men’s lacrosse team suffered its fourth straight loss on Saturday afternoon losing an MAC Conference game, 12-4, to the University of Scranton on a cloudy day.

The win is the first of the season for the Royals who improve to 1-12 overall and 1-8 in the MAC, while the loss drops the Bulldogs to 3-9 overall and 1-6 in the MAC.  UofS started strong and never really looked back in this game as they scored the game’s first four goals and held a 6-3 edge at half before outscoring DSU, 6-1 in the second half.

Leading the scoring attack for DeSales was sophomore Andrew Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) with two goals and junior Chris Laveglia (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) with one goal and one assist.  Freshman Jay Young (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) scored the other DSU goal and junior Dylan Beese (Berwick, PA/Hillsborough) added an assist.

Beese was fantastic on the face-off as he took all 20 face-offs, losing just two with both of those coming on an illegal start.  Beese also collected a game and team-high 10 ground balls.

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, April 26th as they travel to FDU-Florham for another MAC Conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
