Center Valley, PA, (April 26, 2005) – The DeSales University baseball team improved to 3-0 on live TV as they cruised past local rival Moravian College, 10-0, in non-conference action under the lights at Limeport Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Sophomore Luke Pisker (Oley, PA/Oley Valley) returned to the pitcher’s rubber for the first time since the Arizona spring trip and looked good throwing the first four innings as scripted before the game allowing just three hits and striking out five to improve to 2-1 on the year. Senior Ian Hauze (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) earned Cambridge Search Player of the Game honors as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI’s and became DSU’s all-time leader in RBI’s with 150 in the win.
The win improves the Bulldogs to 23-8 overall and drops the Greyhounds to 9-21 overall. DSU scored once in the first and three times in the second to open up a 4-0 lead and never looked back. Hauze had both his RBI’s in the first two innings including an RBI double in the first inning.
Pisker also contributed at the plate going 3-for-4 with a run scored. Senior Chris Peters (Allentown, PA/Parkland) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI’s and senior Nolan Neiman (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh) was 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI’s in the win.
DSU returns to action on Friday, April 29th as they travel to Lackawanna County Stadium to take on The University of Scranton in the first game of the three-game set over the weekend. First pitch is set for 4:00 pm.
