Bulldogs Cruise Past Rutgers-Newark, 18-2

Sophomore Luke Pisker went 3-for-3 with 5 RBI's and a three-run home run leading DeSales past Rutgers-Newark, 18-2.
 
Center Valley, PA, (April 6, 2005) – The DeSales University baseball team pounded out 24 hits and 18 runs to win its third straight game, 18-2, over Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon at Butz Field.
 
        The win improves DeSales to 12-4 overall and drops the Scarlet Raiders to 6-8-2 on the season.  Sophomore Luke Pisker (Oley, PA/Oley) is the Cambridge Search Player of the Game as he went 3-for-3 with five RBI’s including a three-run home run in the second inning giving DeSales a 3-0 lead.  Junior Joe Chapman (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) earned the win going five strong innings allowing just three hits and one unearned run.
 
        Five other Bulldogs, along with Pisker, had multiple hit games.  Sophomore Matt Lezinsky (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) and senior Ian Hauze (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) each tallied a game-high four hits.  They each scored twice and combined for five RBI’s.  Senior Kyle Hoffman (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) had two hits and senior Chris Peters (Allentown, PA/Parkland) also had two hits.
 
        Fellow senior Dan Fratantoro (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) was 3-for-6 with three RBI’s.  Fratantoro recorded his second double of the season and now has 44 career doubles moving him past Kevin Coyle for first all-time at DeSales.
 
        DeSales returns to action on Friday, April 8th as they travel to King’s College for a Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
