Allentown, PA, (May 3, 2005) – The DeSales University baseball team tuned up the Freedom Conference playoffs coming up this weekend by winning its seventh straight game, 8-3, over local rival Muhlenberg College on Tuesday evening at Cedar Brook Park.
Sophomore Luke Pisker (Oley, PA/Oley Valley) made his second straight quality start and earned Cambridge Search Player of the Game honors by going five strong innings allowing just four hits and striking out four to improve to 3-1 on the year.
Offensively, senior Chris Peters (Allentown, PA/Parkland) was 2-for-4 with two RBI’s and five other players recorded RBI’s in the win. Seniors Dan Fratantoro (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) and Kyle Hoffman (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) along with junior Derek Miller (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) each had two hits and scored two runs and junior Matt Burkhart (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) had two hits.
DeSales returns to action on Friday as they enter its Freedom Conference title defense as the #1 seed in the Freedom Conference Playoff Tournament. The Bulldogs will play the #4 seed, FDU-Florham in the opening game on Friday at Quakertown Memorial Park beginning at 4:00 pm.
