Bethlehem, PA, (September 1, 2005) – The DeSales University volleyball team dropped its 2005 season opener, 3-0 (30-21, 30-12, 30-18), at Moravian College on Thursday evening in non-conference action.
Leading the attack for the Bulldogs (0-1 overall) was freshman Joann Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) who totaled eight kills. Fellow freshman Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) handed out 17 assists and sophomore Gia Zimmerman (Blandon, PA/Reading Central Catholic) totaled a team-high 12 digs in the loss.
DSU returns to action on Friday as they travel to Moravian College once again to play in the Greyhound Premiere Invitational on both Friday and Saturday.
